Who may not be imaged with Xiralite? Are there associated risks? Is Xiralite safe?
The radiation free Xiralite exam has no significant risk to the patient. As of today, more than 13.000 patients have been imaged with Xiralite with no major or lasting adverse effects.
Xiralite may not be used in patients with open wounds on the hands. Open wounds may show artifacts not related to the disease, and an open wound might contaminate the hand rest. In addition, a known or assumed allergy against the fluorescence dye ICG is an exclusion criterion. Your treating physician will discuss this with you.
